Data Connectors
July and August tend to be a bit slow for conferences in the DFW area. No one wants to compete with DEF CON and Black Hat, but that doesn’t mean nothing is happening. Local meetups are still going on, and for those of us who are looking for a full day of CPEs without traveling, look no further than Data Connectors on July 27. From the Data Connectors site:
The Dallas Tech-Security Conference features 40-60 vendor exhibits and 8-12 educational speaker sessions discussing current tech-security issues such as cloud security, email and social media security, VoIP, LAN security, wireless security, USB drives security & more. Numerous door prizes such as iPads, Kindles, $25, $50 and $100 gift cards and lots more! You’ll come away with advice and knowledge so you can start proactively protecting your environment from the latest security breaches. Your registration will include your breakfast, lunch, conference materials and entrance into the conference sessions and exhibit area.
What’s the best part? Why, it’s free for ISSA, Fort Worth Chapter members, of course. Just check your email for the code to enter while registering. Not a member? It’s easy to join, and for July only, you can get a 25% discount with code ICJULY17.
Call for Volunteers
We have the opportunity to have a booth presence at the event, but as a small volunteer-run organization, we rely on volunteers. It’s very easy, actually. All you need to do is chat with people as they approach the booth and tell them a bit about the Chapter. We’ll provide the details. It’s a great way to give back to the Chapter and the community. Interested? Let us know.
