GDPR. It’s been bandied about in many IT and Information Security circles, and nearly everyone has heard of the two biggest provisions. We will spend this meeting going through a high-level discussion of the GDPR, and discuss how this may affect your organizations.
Neil Smith is a Linux Systems Administrator with an interest in information security and the policies that relate to it. He’s been in IT for long enough to remember when running Windows NT on a laptop meant hours of pain and anguish. He currently works maintaining data loss prevention systems at a major telecom in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.
The Future of Your Chapter
2017 saw the biggest year of growth in our history. We had great speakers, lots of connections were made and membership grew by double-digits.
But that was last year. It’s time for something new! How about a member portal where you can access past presentations, print CPE certificates and more? What else would you like to see? This is your chance to be heard, as we have an interactive discussion about the year ahead.
Michael Starks is ISSA, Fort Worth Chapter President and an information security professional with more than fifteen years of experience in the industry. He is an ISSA Fellow, serves on the International Ethics Committee and has written several articles on ethics and privacy for ISSA Journal.
When not writing, speaking, tweeting or otherwise geeking out, Michael enjoys semi-futile attempts at gardening, science fiction and really bad jokes.
Please RSVP below. You do not have to be a member to attend. All are welcome.
